The Position:
The GBV Programme Analyst is based in Cox’s Bazar Sub Office, as part of the gender component implementation team for the Health and Gender Support Project (HGSP) funded by the World Bank. S/he shall directly report to the GBV Programme Specialist based in Cox’s Bazar.

Job Purpose:
The World Bank (WB) approved a grant of USD 150 million to the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) for the Health and Gender Support Project (HGSP) in Cox’s Bazar (CXB) district. The project aims at improving access and utilization of Health, Nutrition and Population (HNP) and Gender Based Violence (GBV) response services among the host and the displaced Rohingya population in the district. CXB lags behind in all key HNP and GBV indicators relative to the national average. In response, the GoB developed an operational plan to implement this project and contracted UNFPA to implement the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and gender-based violence (GBV) components of the project.

A team of SHR and Gender programme staff, hired under this project, are working in a coordinated manner to ensure timely implementation of activities and compliance with the donor’s requirements of programme and financial reporting. A clear line of reporting for both technical and financial obligations ensures efficient management of the HGSP.

Under the overall guidance of the Gender Unit Chief and the direct supervision of the GBV Programme Specialist, as well as in close cooperation with other Programme Analysts under the given Project, the GBV Programme Analyst will contribute to the implementation of the GBV component of the HGSP in Cox’s Bazar. The incumbent will facilitate the day-to-day implementation of the activities in the field - in the context of both refugee camps and host communities, assess their progress and bottlenecks, and provide quality assurance, with a focus on GBV case management and psycho-social support (PSS).
