This report on Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPMSR) for Rohingya Response
in 2023 like all the previous reports serves as a critical resource of our collective efforts to address this
challenge. MPMSR is a comprehensive approach that not only tracks maternal and perinatal deaths but
also investigates their causes, identifies systemic gaps, and implements targeted interventions to prevent
future occurrences.

The findings presented in this report show that each case of maternal or perinatal death is a story that
holds valuable lessons for improving healthcare delivery for mothers and babies. Through the data
analysis that this report provides, health service providers and other stakeholders are able to identify
and rectify preventable factors contributing to these deaths.
