Basic Description:
The Women Empowerment Officer oversees UNFPA supported GBViE Program interventions in Cox’s Bazar. She will support the GBViE team to design and develop context-specific innovative and evidence-based prevention programming in line with GBV Guiding principles and UNFPA Minimum Standards for Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies. Additionally, she will oversee information collection and advocacy related to GBV and reproductive health gaps and services. This position technically supports Life skill facilitators, center coordinators, and social support officers in the Women Lead Community centers, as well as social workers and facilitators in the Women Friendly Spaces and SRH facilities. This position works under the direct supervision of the GBViE Program Specialist and overall guidance of the Head of Sub Office. As GBV requires a multi sectored response, the Women Empowerment Officer will also be required to encourage smooth communication, collaboration and coordination among partners from the protection, health, legal and psychosocial, livelihoods and other working groups and sectors as it relates to GBV prevention and livelihoods programming.
