UNFPA Bangladesh as part of the humanitarian community has been playing a leading role in responding to the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Gender-Based Violence and Education needs in the Rohingya response since 2020 when the government of Bangladesh (GoB) commenced the relocation of refugees from the from the from the overcrowded camps in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar to Bhasan Char, a remote silt Island in the Bay of Bengal.  The number of refugees relocated is expected to increase from 19,000 to 100,000 by the end of September 2022.  

In view of the above, UNFPA is seeking to recruit a GBViE programme officer to be based in UNFPA sub office, Cox’s Bazar.

The officer will ensure direct support to the GBV in Emergency (GBViE) Programme at Cox’s Bazar District with frequent travel to Bhasan Char and other disaster affected districts in Bangladesh. S/he will work closely with the GBViE team members, Gender Team in Dhaka and UNFPA’s GBViE partners in Cox’s Bazar and will provide administrative and programme support to implement UNFPA supported GBV programmes in Cox’s Bazar. S/he will also provide technical programmatic support and guidance to implementing partners to ensure quality and timely implementation of planned activities.  S/he will assist in the development of GBViE programmes annual work plans and will ensure that they are uploaded into the system in a timely manner.
