The Programme Specialist, Population and Development (P&D) is located in Bangladesh Country Offices (CO) and reports to the Deputy Representative.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Acts as an advisor to the Representative on population dynamics and Data for Development
- Provide strategic direction and technical leadership within UNFPA in the development, of key population-related thinking and policy documents, including fact sheets, policy briefs, option papers.
- Review the political, social and economic environment relevant to Populations and Development and pursues opportunities for UNFPA assistance and intervention. Assess implications of new policy developments and strategies on programme execution and ensures appropriate implementation.
- Overall responsibility for planning, implementing, monitoring and results-based reporting of work plans and budgets carried out by PPR Unit.
