The National Midwifery Officer, under the overall guidance and supervision of Programme Analyst- Midwifery, UNFPA Bangladesh, will support the Midwifery Section of the Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) to respond to the needs of the midwifery profession and will provide technical support as per ToR for the effective and efficient functioning of the project which will be implemented by the DGNM.
The National Midwifery Officer facilitates the work of consultants, advisors, and experts and establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with counterparts in government, multi-lateral and bilateral donor agencies and civil society to address emerging issues. S/he must effectively influence counterparts from diverse backgrounds to jointly contribute to achieving UNFPA’s mandate. The National Midwifery Officer is a substantive contributor to the programme team in the Country Office.
