Cox’s Bazar — The partnership between the Government of Switzerland and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Bangladesh has achieved significant milestones in empowering Rohingya refugees and host community members. The project, “Rising Together - Building Resilient & Inclusive Communities through Women & Youth Empowerment,” has directly reached over 62,000 individuals, including 50,000 women and girls and 12,000 youth, equipping them to become agents of change in their communities.

In the face of a protracted crisis and the reduction in overall humanitarian resources, this initiative provides a critical lifeline. The project utilizes a network of eight Safe Spaces for Women and eight dedicated Centres for Youth to deliver an integrated package of GBV prevention, reproductive health, youth leadership, and mental health support.
